Me vs Kanye West Calling Mr. West

Yes, yes it's true I can't stand Kanye West. Why you ask? What has Kanye done to you? It's more about what he hasn't done. Believe it or not there was a time when I did like him. Remember that time after the near fatal car accident when his jaw was wired shut? Yep that was pretty much when I liked him. Once they took the wires off not so much. My dislike of him is of the person not of the music. I can appreciate the music what I don't appreciate is his greater than thou attitude that was brought on by the success of his music. Kanye acts as though his fans are beneath him.

This is what I do not like. His fans those people who he looks down upon are the same people who got him to where he is today. I think somewhere between 2002-2012 Kanye lost his ability to be humble. Maybe he never had it at all although I think he did. I think his mother taught him that. All mothers teach us that to be humble and grateful for what we have or at least the good ones do. Kanye somewhere along the line lost that.

A perfect example of this is his Twitter account. Kanye has 12 million plus followers on Twitter. A great portion of those are fans, some are haters and some just indifferent. Regardless out of those 12 million there are millions of actual fans. How many fans does Kanye respond to on his Twitter? Zero. How many fans respond to him millions. How many people does Kanye follow on Twitter? Five out of 12 million (this was only recent before this he followed zero) One of the people he follows is Kim Kardashian. KIM KARDASHIAN who also has 12+ million followers. To me this is like a big FUCK YOU to all of his fans. It's like saying unless you have 12 million followers you aren't on my level and I don't even care what you have to say nor do I wish to interact with you. I will give Kim credit though out of her 12 million followers she does follow some fans and she does make it a point to interact with her followers Kanye not so much.

The other night he got online and went on a rant about his new company called #DONDA and people went nuts. Do you think he responded to one of those people? Nope. Do you think he has ever retweeted a message sent to him? Nope. Kanye is about Kanye and he will always be about Kanye. Social media is a way to have a direct connect to your fans/followers to interact and engage not constantly self promote. Yes, while some self promotion is expected if you are a celebrity it shouldn't be all the time. I think I could respect him a bit more as a person if he showed he used his account to get to know some of the 12 million people who truly are fans of his. This is from me to you Kanye through the wire.
